A $40 million donation will finance a new field house near Pier 5, helping Brooklyn Bridge Park expand into a year-round destination. Plans still need to be finalized but the facility is expected to be 115,000 square feet with amenities including a cycling track and space to accommodate sports including basketball and tennis. The $40 million is the largest ever to a city park.
