Carnegie Hall

The Isaac Stern Auditorium / Ronald O. Perelman Stage is the largest hall at Carnegie Hall. It opened in 1891, and has been the premier classical music performance venue in the United States since then. The auditorium has showcased the world's best soloists, conductors, and ensembles. The hall was dedicated and renamed to the Isaac Stern Auditorium in 1996. The stage was dedicated as the Ronald O. Perelman Stage in 2006.

Throughout it's long history, the space has been the forum for famous jazz shows, important historic lectures, well respected educational forums, and much more. The hall was designed by architect and cellist William Burnett Tuthill, and renovated in 1986. The auditorium's curvilinear design allows the stage to become a focal point clearly viewed by five levels of seats, which accommodates up to 2,804 people. The auditorium's famous acoustics have made it a favorite of both audiences and performers. "It has been said that the hall itself is an instrument," said the late Isaac Stern. "It takes what you do and makes it larger than life."

Carnegie Hall tickets can be purchased online and in advance to most events. Please see the event listings on this page for availability and if you don't see your event, either click on any event and do a search on landing page, or, check event listings by month on our main Events page.
