A gift from the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association in 1976, this statue of Confucious stands before Confucious Plaza, a public housing development. The marble base, carved with inscriptions of the sage's writings are in both Chinese and English.
Fresh fish finds its way from Fulton Street to a market offering a distinctive Chinese style. Residents need to eat too and many of the markets cater to these hungry, hard-working families looking for dinner.

Street vendors not only offer merchandise for tourists. Trucks of fresh produce often set up shop for the locals.

And while Chinese culture reigns, you can still find world culture at the local bilingual McDonald's!

Thanks for taking this PhotoTour of Chinatown.

But like anywhere in NYC, the experience can only be captured by visiting the real thing!
