Our Mission, Vision, Value Statement and Service Theme
Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) is the largest pet organization in the North East, with an estimated number of 44,000 animals rescued each year. As a not-for-profit organization since 1995, Animal Care & Control has been responsible for New York City's municipal shelter system, rescuing, caring for, and finding loving homes for homeless and abandoned animals in New York City. AC&C facilities operate in all five boroughs.

Get Involved
Each year AC&C receives thousands of homeless dogs and cats and provides a variety of services to the community. AC&C is a private 501c3 non-profit organization that contracts with New York City for animal control services. While we contract with NYC to provide Animal Control services for the city, we are responsible for obtaining our own funds to support the care portion of our mission. We raise the money we need to help animals through donations and service fees. We also rely on volunteers to enhance the care provided to the animals in our Animal Care Centers. We hope you will consider becoming an AC&C contributor or volunteer.
