World Water Week is March 19-25, 2012, when thousands of restaurants in New York and nation-wide are hopping aboard UNICEF's Tap Project by charging just $1 for tap water that their guests would normally drink for free, to raise money for the cause.
What is the UNICEF Tap Project All About?
The UNICEF Tap Project was created in New York City in 2007 and since has expanded across the country, with thousands of restaurants combining efforts to raise money to spread clean drinking water to children in need all over the world.
Since 2007, this award-winning UNICEF project has raised $3 million, with all proceeds directly providing children world-wide with safe, clean drinking water. The results have been impressive and life-saving for millions of children. The money raised during the 2012 World Water Week will be directly helping children in Vietnam, Mauritania, Cameroon and Togo.
What can you do to help?
We may normally take our clean, safe drinking water for granted because it's plentiful and free, but if you'd like to help this wonderful cause, simply dine at any of the following participating restaurants in New York between March 19-25 and pay $1 for the water served, and directly help UNICEF's cause.
The UNICEF Tap Project website is full of information on other ways you can help as well, by raising awareness and donating your time and efforts to expanding the Tap Project.
