Speaking of pizza, this past Monday the original original owner of Famous Ray's, Mario DiRienzo, reopened the doors to his pizzeria on 6th Avenue and 11th Street, reports Jeremiah's Vanishing New York. The space now sports the name Famous Roio's. For a time, there had been talk of rival pie-slinging chain Famous Original Ray's taking over the space, but those plans fell through. DiRienzo, who owns the building, said, "I'm coming back. New York needs me."
