Known as Irving Plaza until April 11, 2007, the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza is a 1,200-person club that was built in 1914. The club is located adjacent to Union Square Park at 17 Irving Place and East 15th Street in New York City. The venue hosts many local and touring bands, dance, theater, and music performing events in a variety of genres.
The name Fillmore stems from the legendary rock club named Fillmore East that was open from 1968 to 1971. The Fillmore East was located nearby on Second Avenue at Sixth Street. Live Nation renovated and reopened Irving Plaza under the name "Fillmore New York At Irving Plaza" in 2007.
The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza is one of the city’s original rock venues, pulling in well known artists from around the world. The club features local artists as well as larger touring acts. Even with a full house this club maintains plenty of elbow room and a comfortable setting.
