There are many fun things to do in NYC on the Fourth of July. One of the most cherished 4th of July traditions is the Macy's Fireworks Show. At this kid-friendly 4th of July event, the Manhattan skyline will be lit by 40,000 exploding shells set off from six barges on the Hudson River. While you've no doubt seen the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Show live on TV, you've probably never seen the show from the deck of a luxury cruising vessel. American Princess, Seastreak, and Circle-Line all offer fabulous views of the Fourth of July fireworks show in NYC. Book early to ensure yourself a spot!

If you're looking for cheap things to do on the 4th of July, consider attending Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest in Brooklyn, a Fourth of July tradition for over 100 years. At this fun 4th of July event, 20 competitors will fight to see who can eat the largest number of hot dogs in ten minutes. Expect crowds in excess of 40,000.

Other fun NYC attractions open on the 4th of July include Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, where you'll find the lifelike wax statues of celebrities and public figures, and the Central Park Zoo, where you'll find many of the world's most exotic animals, including polar bears and snow leopards.
