It's no surprise that the biggest stars in Hollywood are drawn to Broadway. Where else, after all, can they showcase the breadth of their talents? Where else can they sing and dance and soliloquize (perhaps even in the same evening)? Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, James Earl Jones, and Kelsey Grammer are just a few of those who have made recent appearances on the Great White Way. Last month Brooke Shields joined the cast of The Addams Family Musical as Morticia, family matriarch and wife of suave ladykiller Gomez. Shields, who also starred in the 1994 revival of Grease and the 2003 revival of Chicago, replaced the talented Bebe Neuwirth, who held the lead role in the 2010 revival of the play. Shields stars opposite Roger Rees and Jackie Hoffman.
Fans of Glee will be delighted to learn that Glee star Darren Criss has been chosen to take over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch (currently held by Daniel Radcliffe) in the Tony Award-winning revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Criss, whose loving portrayal of Harry Potter in A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel helped bring him to the public eye, will perform at the Al Hirschfield Theatre January 3-22, 2012, following Radcliffe's departure from the production. Criss's three-week stint as the ambitious young window washer will coincide with Glee's hiatus and will not affect the show's taping.
