Hanukkah In New York City

Hanukkah is also known as the Festival of Lights or Festival of Rededication. This eight day Jewish holiday begins on the 25th day of Kislev, which may be in December, late November, or, on occasion, early January. This festival is observed by the lighting of candles on each of the eight nights, one on the first night, two on the second night, and so on. The word Hanukkah is most commonly transliterated to English as Hanukah or Chanukah.
