The Izod Center is home to the NBA's New Jersey Nets and many different events.
Countless memorable moments in sports and entertainment have happened in the Center. The Devils have won three Stanley Cups in 1995, 2000, and 2003. The Nets advanced to the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003. The venue has also hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 1982, the NHL All-Star Game in 1984, and the NCAA Men's Final Four in 1996.
The center has been graced by some of the greatest entertainers in modern music. It has a acoustical design that provides audiences with the best sound and an optimum view from anywhere in the arena. The Center opened in July 1981. Some artists that have performed at the Arena include Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, U2, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, and Eminem -- making the Center one of the top concert venues in the United States.
The Arena has received many industry awards, including the "Prime Site Award" from Facilities and Event Management magazine; it was named "Arena of the Year" a record eight times by Performance magazine and voted "#1 Grossing Arena in North America" by Amusement Business.
