34th Street bet. Broadway & 7th Avenue

In busy Herald Square, the intersection of Broadway and Sixth Avenue at 34th Street, stands one of NYC's most famous icons of shopping - Macy's Department Store.

Since 1902, Macy's Herald Square is one of the last turn-of-the-century department stores in existence.

NYCtourist.com visited Macy's during its Flower Show, a two-week event beginning Palm Sunday. The entire store is adorned with flowers from around the world.

Looking down on the main floor, we see part of the extensive cosmetics department.

There are several entrances to Macy's and it's a good idea to look for an information desk and get a directory of the store.

With 10 floors and half a million items for sale - you'll need it!

One place you may want to look for is the 34th Street balcony. There, you'll find Macy's VisitorCenter.
