The Care Bear Float at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Among those floats featured in the 2010 Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade were 123 Sesame Street, Care Bears, Dickens Christmas, Local Heroes Helping Everyday, M&M's On Broadway, Rocking Horse, Smurf Mushroom House, Snoopy's Dog House, Statue of Liberty, Winter Wonderland in Central Park, and Yo Gabba Gabba. As per tradition, Tom Turkey led the parade, and Santa's Sleigh brought up the rear.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been known to attract many popular celebrities and performers. In 2010, India Arie, Big Time Rush, Arlo Guthrie, Gladys Knight, Kylie Minogue, Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood, and Kanye West were among those who performed at the Macy's Day Parade. Past parades have featured performances by Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Alan Cumming, Miley Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, Wynonna Judd, Jordin Sparks, and James Taylor.

Of the roughly 150 applicants, only ten marching bands are selected to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Here is a list of the 2011 performers:

- Dobyns-Bennett Marching Indian Band - Kingsport, Tennessee
- Hawaii All-State Marching Band - Kaneone, Hawaii
- Homestead High School Marching Band - Cupertino, California
- Homewood Patriot Band - Homewood, Alabama
- Legacy High School Lightning Marching Band - Broomfield, Colorado
- Miami University Marching Band - Oxford, Ohio
- Nation Ford High School Marching Band - Fort Mill, South Carolina
- NYPD Marching Band - New York, New York
- Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band - Canton, Michigan
Of course, Macy's Great American Marching Band will also make an appearance.
