Macy's Fireworks Spectacular - New York City
With over 12,000 bursts of light decorating the night sky it's no surprise that Macy's fireworks display continues to described as the biggest fireworks show in the world.
Every year Macy's Department Stores celebrate the country's birthday by launching thousands of aerial shells and other fireworks into the night sky from barges located in the East River and light up the night with dramatic and breathtaking reds blue, yellows and greens. People from all over the city flock to certain viewing areas just to see this wondrous display of pyrotechnics. This year the evening's festivities are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and the first firework will explode in the night sky at approximately 9:20 p.m.

While the fireworks and explosions can be heard throughout most of the city, there are some places that are considered to be better than others. The area south of Williamsburg Bridge and the southern tip of Roosevelt Island are both considered to be too very good locations to check out the display. For those that are lucky enough to have a boat, you may want to head out to Hunter's Point or just hang out in the East River. You will be so close to the fireworks that you can practically feel the heat on your skin.
In addition to the Macy's firework's display, the New York Fire Department has been known to get into the festive spirit by shooting colored into the air from their fire boats in the river.

For those that are still seeking the perfect way to celebrate the birth of the country, you won't find any better way than to check out one of the best fireworks show around.
