O'Nieal's AKA Scout
I first visited Onieal’s SoHo during the On Location’s Sex and the City Tour- the actual location of Scout, which in the show is owned by Aiden and Steve. During the tour, they offered $12 cosmos (in theme of the show) for a discounted price of $9. Beers on tap averaged about $10.
For non-fans of Sex and the City, or those more interested in an awesome SoHo bar than the TV show it appears in, the bar still lives up to the hype.
The interior is dark but not gloomy in the least. Bench seating and small tables with ottomans, as well as barstools at the bar serve as the seating options in the main bar area, with a separate room with additional table seating for dining. The ceiling is made from beautifully sculpted wood with a somewhat paisley pattern and has large ceiling fans circulating. The bar is dark wood, as is the floor and the whole vibe is very bohemian. Black and white photos of New York City are framed and hung on the walls and the dim lighting is made from candles and small lamps.
There was one large television in the corner of the bar, where I assume sports games are played. A mellow soundtrack of oldies played just loud enough to get peoples’ heads bobbin’ but quiet enough to hold conversations. I really enjoyed the vibe here – mellow and casual, but with character.
