Ellen's Stardust Diner - Entertainment While You Eat!

Venue Reviewed: Ellen's Stardust Diner NYC

This diner is a famous Broadway diner, right in Times Square, so I knew I wanted to have a meal here during my visit, and overall, I'm glad I did.  I went in the late morning and was hoping for breakfast (assuming diners have menu items all over the map) but unfortunately there were only a couple of breakfast items to choose from. I also don't eat meat, and there weren't many tempting vegetarian items, more of a burgers or chicken strips kind of place.  I ended up with a decent $12 salad. I wasn't blown away with the menu, but I have to say I do recommend going here for the atmosphere, especially if you have kids.

All of the servers at Ellen's Stardust Diner are also performers, outside of work, as well as on the clock.  There is a constant rotation of songs being performed, from all genres.  During my meal I heard everything from Sublime to Little Shop of Horrors songs being performed right before my eyes.  The service is excellent and very entertaining!

The ambiance is also fun, themed as a 50's style diner, with television and movie memorabilia covering the walls.  There are neon lights, spotlights and a great sound system for the live performances throughout the restaurant.  There is no set stage - the performers/ servers just sing and dance all around as you dine. It's a great experience and the food is decent - definitely a great place to eat before or after a Broadway play.
