Location. Just a few blocks from the United Nations and one block over from the Chrysler Building the New York Helmsley is one hotel that is close to everything. City attractions include Broadway, the Garment District and Times Square.

Mindy's is the hotel's resturant and spans over three floors and features hand painted murals and American cuisine. There are also free passes for hotel guests at a nearby fitness center.

Expert Tip. Grand Central Partnership holds free tours every Friday. Tour groups meet on 42nd Street in front of the Phillip Morris/Whitney Museum.

was happy at this hotel: I recently took my girlfirned to New York for her 25th birthday and I have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the New York Helmsley. We got one of the Premier Rooms on the 33rd floor and have to say that the view was amazing, we woke up every morning with the Empire State Building staring us in the face. The rooms are fairly spacious and while the beds are very comfortable they are fairly small. The flat panel TV had great reception and plenty of stations to choose from. Before we checked in I let the staff know we were in town to celebrate her birthday so imagine her surprise when they delivered a free bottle of wine. As far as location goes you can't beat this place. The Staten Island Ferry is right around the corner. Times Square and Grand Central Station are five minutes away. PAX deli is located right next door and has some of the best sub sandwiches around and Comfort Diner is a great way to start the morning. Definetely plan on staying there on our next trip.
