There are a number of ways to get to Madison Ave shopping in New York either by car, subway or bus.  Keep in mind that Madison Avenue is an extremely popular landmark and that traffic and parking will be more of hassle than using NY public transportation.

Get to Madison Ave Shopping by Subway

There are a number of ways to get to Madison Ave shopping in New York either by car, subway or bus.

  • By Bus: NYC buses M1, M2, M3 and M4 all take you to Madison New York shopping or you can use the express buses BxM1, BxM2, BxM3, BxM4 and BxM5.
  • By Subway: using subway F: exit at the Lexington Ave/63rd Street station; using subways E or M: exit at Fifth Ave/53rd Street station; using subways N, Q, or R: exit at Fifth Ave/59th Street station; using subways 4, 5, or 6: exit at Lexington Ave/59th Street station; using subways 4 or 6: exit at 68th Street/Hunter College station or Lexington Ave/77th Street station.
  • By Car: if traveling from the West of Madison Ave: locate New York 9A and travel Northeast, exit at West 79th Street, turn right onto West 79th Street, turn left onto Amsterdam Ave, turn the second right onto West 81st Street and continue onto West 79th Street Traverse Road, travel onto East 79th Street and turn left onto Madison Ave.  If traveling from the East of Madison Ave: locate the Queensboro Bridge and travel Northwest, take the slight left to stay on the Queensboro Bridge and continue onto East 60th Street, turn right onto Madison Avenue.
  • Parking: parking in a garage is expensive in Midtown Manhattan so expect to pay around $20 for 5 hours of parking.  Parking garages near Madison Avenue shopping include: Central Parking System on 1000 Fifth Ave, Icon Parking Systems on 900 Park Ave, Fifth Ave Garage Inc on 5 East 79th Street, and Garage Management Company LLC on 8 East 83rd Street.
