Official New York Blog

April may be the cruelest month according to T.S. Eliot, but in New York City, flowers are blooming and the weather is warming up! Summer vacationers have yet to arrive in the city, and despite the chance of April showers, the weather is better than it was in the winter months. So if you’re one of the lucky ones headed to New York City this April, read on for the best things to do all month long!

Tribeca Film Festival

This film festival occurs once a year, complete with some of the best films of the year and a star-studded guest list. Classic Harbor Lines Architecture Cruise

With the weather warming up, it’s a great time to cruise along the Hudson on a Classic Harbor Lines tour! We love this 90 minute tour, as you get to see beautiful skyline views of lower Manhattan, all while learning more about what goes into the intricate architecture of New York City’s most iconic structures. They’ve recently lowered their ticket prices, so grab them quick!

Walking Window Tour

With springtime comes the new fashion that comes along with it. What better way to experience it than by a tour of New York City’s iconic storefront windows? We love the WindowsWear Walking Tour, as it’s a unique way to explore NYC while educating yourself on the latest fashion trends. Stroll down 5th Ave. with your knowledgeable tour guide as you gaze through the fabulous windows of Barney’s, Bergdorf’s, Bloomy’s, or Bendel’s! Check out their website for more info: http://tours.windowswear.com

Celebrate Easter

When you think about Easter, you probably don’t associate it with hoards of people wearing enormous, intricate headwear down 5th Avenue. However, if you’re visiting NYC for Easter, you’ll have a hard time ever forgetting the NYC tradition that is The Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival! Check out the spectacle from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. along 5th Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets. For more information, click here.

April Showers?

If it does happen to rain a day or two during your stay in New York City, do not fear! Though it is fun to explore the streets of The Big Apple, there are a lot of awesome things to do that do not require bracing the cold or the rain. The city is filled to the brim with iconic museums such as the MOMA, Guggenheim, and the Met. There are also amazing restaurants to choose from - watch the rain fall from a window seat while enjoying a macaron (or 5...) and a cappuccino at Laduree, or try famous New York pizza at La Bella Ferrara in Little Italy.

So whether you’re biking through Central Park, seeking refuge from the rain with a French breakfast, or enjoying a magical cruise down the Hudson, you’re bound to have an amazing time in the Big Apple!
