NYCTourist Travel Info

Features: WWE New York was a professional wrestling New York theme restaurant in Times Square. It began in 1999 and was open until 2003, when professional wrestling began to decline in popularity. WWE NYC featured big screen TV's for pay-per-view events, as well as a full theme menu, expansive gift shop, and underground night club.

Why We Dine: WWE New York was not just a mecca for professional wrestling fans from New York City. The WWE restaurant was an NYC attraction for wrestling fans all over the United States.

  • Televised Events: One of the best reasons to visit WWE New York was to watch televised events with other professional wrestling fans. There were monitors all over the New York theme restaurant to show events like Wrestlemania or Summerslam. The WWE event Sunday Night Heat was hosted at the WWE Restaurant as well.
  • The Gift Shop: The WWE Restaurant had an expansive gift shop that was well known for having even the most obscure WWE merchandise from wrestlers like Mr. Perfect or Brett The Hitman Hart.
  • WWF Stars: Another great aspect of WWE New York was how often WWE superstars like Rowdy Roddy Piper or Bam Bam Bigalow would stop by and make guest appearances. For any fan of professional wrestling, WWE NYC was a fan favorite.

Inside Knowledge: The WWE Restaurant's space was purchased by the Hard Rock Cafe in 2008, which now operates a functioning Hard Rock Cafe restaurant.

We Recommend:

  • A Cold One:  The drink that defined Stone Cold Steve Austin was served cold every day at the WWE restaurant, and much to the delight of wrestling fans, plenty were served during televised events like Monday Night Raw and Wrestelmania on Pay-Per-View.
  • Visiting the Gift Shop:  During its functioning days, WWE New York featured an expansive gift shop where fans could buy merchandise featuring their favorite WWE superstars like Owen Hart, The Undertaker, and Kevin Nash!
