New York Magazine has called Under the Radar “The next big thing” bringing new theater in various forms from around the world, presented in an eleven day festival of multiple performances in different venues around New York City.  The main goal of UTR is to give people a sort of crash course in the world of modern theater from around the globe – to get them excited and involved in the ever-evolving creative scene.

This annual festival goes from January 4 - January 15 and spotlights a range of theatrical artists from emerging new artists to field professionals and sets the stage for all types of performers in all types of genres.  Solo performances, full stage ensembles, experimental, tragedy, song and speech are all in the mix of artistic expression you’ll find in the array of performance styles at Under the Radar.

The program for Under the Radar 2012 (7th annual) features fifteen performances, each with admissions around $25.  UTR Paks are a great way to save, offering your choice of 5 shows for just $75, (a $50 saving.) Though the UTR Paks are sold out for this year, it’s a great heads up to have for future UTR Festivals.

Under the Radar productions are taking place at the following venues: The Public Theater in NoHo, La MaMa and Wyoming Building in East Village, HERE in SoHo, and Japan Society in Midtown East.  For more information on UTR, check out undertheradarfestival.com.
