New York City is known as ‘the city that never sleeps,’ and since on Halloween we want to find (and be!) the things that go bump in the night, where better to spend the biggest spookfest of the year? NYC Halloween parties are huge - many of them drawing thousands of costumed New York denizens, so how do you find the parties you’d like to hit up? Whether you’re a local or visitor to the Big Apple, we at have created a list breaking down the hottest halloween parties in NYC this October.

Webster Hell Halloween Party (19+):

As host to the Official NYC Halloween Parade Afterparty, Webster Hell is easily the biggest spookfest in New York City. A halloween tradition since 1886, this Halloween party has been running for 128 years! Webster Hell party-goers can (and should) expect anything to happen. All four floors of Webster Hall are transformed into dance floors and stages for shows and spectacles. Webster Hell has also brought back a medieval tradition for its annual Halloweenfest - at midnight a Virgin Sacrifice is performed, so this Halloween party may not be for the faint of heart. Party goers can also take advantage of a $5,000 costume contest. Webster Hell boasts that this is the “king of all costume contests” - so don’t think a store bought costume is going to bring you home the gold. All the ghost and ghouls at Webster Hell bring their scariest, sexiest and most creative Halloween best - so expect to have to step-up your game to be considered for the grand prize. Make sure you get tickets before they run out!
