Features: The Museum of Sex is progressive museum that displays the different perspectives on sexuality. Although many cringe at the idea of public displays of sex, this museum is dedicated to a legitamate showcase of uncensored sexual academia and provide a space for people to openingly converse about one of the most important aspects of human behavior.

Why We Go: The Museum of Sex takes many different forms of expression; film, portraits, historical displays and even literature, to share the research around sexuality for the publics benefit. If the name of the museum doesn't catch your eye, read below for more reasons why we go!

  • Diverse displays: The Museum of Sex has a large array of displays that capture topics of sexuality that include, taboo practices, safe sex and the sexual life of animals. The many exhibits are a good reason to visit once, twice or maybe every time you are in New York!
  • Institution of Learning: The Museum of Sex is very focused on the academia of sexuality. MoSex carrys out ongoing projects in which sexual behavior is geopgraphically charted and recorded for future study. This educational museum will most likely leave you feeling informed and empowered in your chosen sexuality.

Inside Knowledge:  Group visits are available for a reduced rate for groups of ten people or more! Reservations must be made two weeks in advanced.

Do's and Don'ts:

  • Do stop by the shop. Before you go make sure to stop by the "the shop" which carries a good selection of clothing, toys and gear that you'd expect to find at one of the city's best sex shops. Also don't forget about their apothecary items that include massage oils, lube and candles.
  • Don't bring kids. The Museum of Sex is strictly for mature audiences. Anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed into the museum. We recommend that you plan a separte activity if you are taking travelling with children.
  • Don't be scared: We all know it can be a little uncomfortable talking or even looking at sexual things in public. Don't worry about it! Just come with an open mind and be ready to educate yourself. There are no judgments in that space!
