History of the New York Giants
In October of 1925, the New York Giants football team was introduced to the nation. Persevering through the Great Depression and World War II, the NY Giants were able to stay afloat while other teams were forced to collapse. With legendary players such as Frank Gifford, Sam Huff, Tiki Barber and Eli Manning, the Giants have brought back seven national championships to their beloved East Coast homeland. The Giants now play at Giants stadium, also known as New Meadowlands Stadium, located in East Rutherford, NJ 07073.

Parking at New York Giants Football Stadium
With 27,500 parking spots and over 40 different ways of entering and exiting the stadium, parking at New Meadowlands Stadium should not be a hassle. Pre-paid parking passes are required for all vehicles entering the complex and allow each vehicle only one spot, even if you have two passes. The parking lot is open five hours prior to the game until two hours after it has ended. Trucks, trailers and buses are not permitted on the east side of the complex (the IZOD Center side) and no vehicles are permitted overnight. General parking passes are $45 but $25 in advance. Grills are permitted for tailgating however open fires, deep fryers, or any type of oil-based cooking or frying are strictly prohibited. There are more than enough portable toilets available throughout the parking lot. If you would rather not park at the stadium, you can drive to the Frank R. Lautenberg Station in Secaucus, NJ and ride the rail service to the stadium. Parking at the Frank R. Lautenberg Station is $20 per game ($160 per season) and the rail service is $4.50 roundtrip.

As you enter the brand new $1.6 billion New Meadowlands Stadium that seats over 82,000 people, there are a few things to take note of before you go. The stadium only allows patrons to bring in bags/purses 12” x 12” x 12” or smaller, all food must be in a clear plastic bag, water bottles must be factory sealed and 20 ounces are smaller. There are bag check-in services in parking lots G and E. Security prohibits fans to bring in alcohol, bottles (other than water), cans, hard-sided coolers, thermoses, ice chests, banners, signs, flags, strollers, umbrellas, laser pointers, and any animals other than service dogs. Jackets and blankets are permitted but will be patted down. The stadium is completely smoke-free and does not allow re-entry. Because NY Giants football games are played in an outdoor stadium, weather can become an issue for some guests. Be sure to check current weather conditions to ensure comfort at the game. The New Meadowlands Stadium promotes safety for all guests and if anyone has an issue, they can anonymously text: 78247, type “GIANTS,” space, then describe the issue and location, and the NJ State Police will come and resolve your problem.
Food & Beverage in NY Giants Football Stadium
There are a number of options for fans to purchase food, beverages, and alcohol throughout the venue. All patrons must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol and be prepared to show identification. There is an alcohol limit at the New Meadowlands Stadium of two per person and all alcohol sales stop at the beginning of the third quarter. Beers cost between $8.75 and $9.75 and are sold all over the complex. There is a large variety of food in the stadium ranging from Papa John’s Pizza to Mrs.Field’s Cookies. Deli sandwiches are also for sale with roast pork sandwiches costing $10 and BBQ sandwiches costing $8. Hot dogs are around $5, nachos around $7 and candy is around $5 each. With such high prices for food in the stadium, most people advise to bring your own food into the game, (must be in a clear plastic bag).

When touring the area of the New Meadowlands Stadium, there are more than a few great restaurants and bars that every NY Giants fan should try. Bonefish Grill is a delicious restaurant and bar with delectable seafood, burgers and salads. Located at 200 Mill Creek Dr. in Secaucus, this establishment also has a great weekday happy hour! At 645 Washington Ave in Carlstadt, rests Grasshopper Also Bar & Restaurant that promotes a fun atmosphere with traditional American cuisine and a tasty brunch on Sundays! If you want to leave the kids at home and enjoy a romantic dinner for two, Feelgood Restaurant & Lounge is an delightful spot with Spanish specialties and romantic vibes.
