Park 70 Hotel Near Bryant Park
Park 70 Hotel (a Kimpton Hotel) surprised me a bit, because all of the other hotels near Bryant Park that I’ve seen tend to be pretty classy. Nothing against the service, but the interior appearance was pretty cheesey. When I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by two beverage jars with self-serve orange and lemon water, and a smell of perfume that I can only equate to a great Aunt.
The seating in the lobby was mauve colored and appeared to be a patent leather bench style corner couch, with several silver and purple pillows made from a variety of materials. There were small round tables made of mirrors as well, and European techno music was quietly playing.
Plusses about this hotel are that they have a business center in the lobby, giving business travelers easy access to stay connected, and the location is wonderful – just 3 or 4 blocks from Bryant Park an another 5 few blocks from there is Times Square. Murray Hill has some great restaurants, including Notaro Italian Restaurant, less than 10 blocks from this hotel (which I went to during my stay and I highly recommend.)
If you can get past the lobby and enjoy a clean hotel room in a great area, Park 70 Hotel isn’t bad!
