Inside Knowledge: One If By Land Two If By Sea used to be the former carriage house for the infamous Aaron Burr.  Aaron Burr was a Continental Army Officer in the Revolutionary War, third Vice President of the United States under President Thomas Jefferson, and an advocate for the end of slavery and equal rights for women.  Burr is most notoriously known for killing Alexander Hamilton in the legendary 1804 duel.

We Recommend:

  • Beef Wellington: One of the reasons why One If By Land is so well-known, it’s heavenly beef wellington entree.  Complete with sauteed spinach, roasted beet, mushroom duxelle, foie gras sabayon, and bordelais jus, this dish is absolutely to die for with the buttery crust melting in your mouth with each bite.
  • Creme Fraiche Panna Cotta: Pastry Chef Dean Anderson has cultivated a masterpiece with his creme fraiche panna cotta that literally makes guests weak in the knees.  Complete with sable breton, citrus medley, blood orange caviar, and tangerine sorbet, this sweet and creamy delight is among the most highly recommended dishes by all patrons of this memorable NYC restaurant.
