Summary
Features: Restaurant Le Cirque is an upscale French restaurant owned and operated by Sirio Maccioni. Menu items at this popular NYC restaurant include a salmon fillet with sauteed mushrooms and a crisp skinned chicken breast with socca, broccoli rabe, and red pepper coulis.
Why We Dine: Having relocated several times in the last 30 years, Restaurant Le Cirque now occupies 16,000 square feet in the gorgeous Bloomberg Building. The food at Le Cirque NYC is as good as it ever was, and the service is top-notch.
- Impressive Wine List: Like many of the best restaurants in NYC, Restaurant Le Cirque boasts an impressive wine list, with bottles representing numerous countries and regions. There's something for everyone at this trendy NYC restaurant; here you'll find wines ranging between $40 and $11,810 per bottle.
- Private Rooms: One of the best things about the new Restaurant Le Cirque is its ample floor space. This popular NYC restaurant features four private rooms; the first, the Stella Private Room, seats 85, or 200 for cocktails; the second, the Egi Private Room, seats 45, or 100 for cocktails; the third, Sirio's Corner, seats up to 35; and the fourth, the highly exclusive Chef's Table, seats just eight. With so many seating options, Restaurant Le Cirque is an excellent choice for business dinners and special events.
- Outstanding French Cuisine: Needless to say, the food at Restaurant Le Cirque is simply superb. Menu items at this upscale restaurant in NYC include paupiette of black cod with leeks, potatoes, and rocca di frassinello sauce; rack of lamb with eggplant and sheep's milk ricotta; and trio de luxe, an appetizer of smoked salmon, foie gras, and caviar.
Inside Knowledge: Since its inception in 1974, Restaurant Le Cirque NYC has launched the careers of some of the best chefs in the world, including Daniel Boulud, David Bouley, Terrance Brennan, Alain Sailhac, Christophe Bellanca, and Geoffrey Zakarian.
We Recommend:
- Le Cirque Tasting Menu: If you're having trouble deciding between the menu items at Restaurant Le Cirque, get the tasting menu. Featured on this special Le Cirque menu are foie gras torchon, brandade "fraiche," wild burgundy escargot, paupiette of black cod, rack of lamb, and Brillat-Savarin layered with winter truffle. At $125 per person, with an optional $75 wine pairing, this meal is a bargain.
- Dessert at Le Cirque: No doubt you'll be full after the six-course tasting menu at Le Cirque. We'd advise you, however, to save enough room for dessert. Le Cirque offers a wide range of sweet after-dinner treats, including a creamy chocolate tart with salted caramel and peanut butter ice cream and a pumpkin souffle with whisky creme anglaise.
