Features: Strawberry Fields NYC is a memorial in Central Park for the late John Lennon, music icon of The Beatles. Though the name describes a field, the meaning follows The Beatles ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’, while the memorial is actually a stone triangle in the ground in Central Park, with a central mosaic with the word ’Imagine,’ after another famous song by John Lennon.

Don't Miss The Dakota
I hadn’t been to Strawberry Fields since I was a kid, and I wanted to revisit the memorable site in Central Park. There isn’t all that much involved with visiting Strawberry Fields, other than taking photos with the memorial mosaic in the ground with the word “Imagine” in the center. This memorial was built to honor the late John Lennon after he was killed, as this was his favorite spot in Central Park. Though it isn’t much, it’s meaningful to a lot of people, including me.
I soon realized all the Beatles fans visiting the site were quickly heading toward 72nd Street to see The Dakota, right across the street from Strawberry Fields. This is the building where John Lennon not only resided, but was also killed just outside. I was sure I’d seen the building as a kid, but didn’t have much memory of it, so I followed the heard to the street corner.
The building is awesome, and the top story window where John Lennon once lived was actually lit up, so it was easy to spot. People were surrounding the building taking photographs. The security guard of The Dakota, as well as the tour guides in Central Park was full of knowledge about the building. It was really cool as a fan of John Lennon to see the site where he lived and died.
